Penny Lou Cottage
A Writers Retreat House

Near Snug Cove, the house is nestled in a quiet, verdant, private neighbourhood which lends itself to creativity, contemplation, focus and grounding. The house is clean and comfortable and offers space for creative energies to flow. Artists are welcome to live and work in the house for a variety of lengths of stay, from a week to a few months.

Ground level entry opens to the kitchen, dining room, living room, a small study and a small bathroom. Downstairs are three bedrooms, a full bathroom with tub/shower and laundry facilities. Two of the bedrooms and all upstairs windows offer forest views and a peek-a-boo view of the water.

All basics utilities are provided as well as Wi-Fi, functioning kitchen with stove, refrigerator, dishes and cutlery.  Towels and bed linens are supplied. The house is self sufficient with a caretaker on call as needed.

All who come on retreat are invited into the rhythm of Rivendell prayer life, at 8 am and 5 pm in the Sanctuary at the Lodge on Cates Hill.  Everyone is welcome and no one is obliged to attend.

Rivendell, as a living sanctuary, is a welcoming ecological facility where guests are invited to be custodians of their own living spaces and common areas, cooperating in the practices of recycling and conservation of energy as well as following general guidelines for community living and cleaning.
